Our eddy current separators are crucial pieces of machinery for separating aluminum and other non-ferrous metals from various process streams. Since non-ferrous metals typically hold higher value, recovering this stream is a vital aspect of numerous recycling facilities across the globe.
Working Principle
The fundamental concept of eddy current separation is fairly straightforward. At the heart of this equipment is a magnetic (either permanent or electromagnetic) rotor with alternating polarity, spinning rapidly within a metallic drum. The alternating magnetic fields generated by this process create “eddy currents” in the non-ferrous metals that pass through. As the material stream moves through these eddy currents via a conveyor, the non-ferrous metals are repelled and collected, while other materials fall off the end of the conveyor.
Our eddy current separator is widely used for the extraction of non-ferrous metals from municipal solid waste, auto shredding operations, glass cullet, electronic waste (WEEE), UBC reclamation, and more.
